Kale is so good for you but can be tough and a bit chewy. This crispy recipe makes it delicious! Can either be served like this or add a tbsp of Chinese 5 Spice to the sugar before sprinkling over the kale for an oriental twist!
*Whatever you do when washed make sure is try by using a tea towel or kitchen roll and letting it dry out on the tray before cooking or it will take longer or steam!
Serves 4
Pre-heat oven to 200c or 180c fan
Equipment
Baking tray
tbsp measurer
Ingredients
200g Curly leaf Kale
1/2 tbsp Sunflower oil (or veg oil)
1 tbsp Light soft brown sugar
Method
Distribute the kale over a baking tray and drizzle with a little oil. Use your hands to squeeze and turn the kale so the oil is distributed evenly.
Sprinkle the sugar over the kale.
Pop in the oven for 10 mins and hey presto, delicious and nutritious!
If it hasn't crisped up after 10 mins use a fish slice to turn over and re-distribute and return for a 3 minutes.
Bake this just before you eat it as it will soften over time. It can be refreshed by being put back in the oven for a few mins.
Enjoy!
