Serve with steak or hot dogs - delicious!
To get the best caramelised onions you need to cook the onions slowly.....
Ingredients
3 large onions
knob butter
olive or sunflower oil
2 tsp white sugar

Method
Slice the onions into half then into moon shapes.
Heat a frying pan and add sunflower oil and a knob of butter.
Put the onions into the hot pan and bring to a slow fry (med temp).
Move around with a wooden spoon every now and again. Be sure not to let them catch.
When the onions are transluscent and soft sprinkle over the sugar and continue to stir while they caramelise.
Add a dash of balsamic vinegar.
